Internet Marketing Tips – Using Affiliate Programs To Advertise Your Business

By Carol King

Do you know about affiliate programs? These are forms of Internet advertising that rewards the affiliates for driving traffic to the advertiser or for other transactions. The advertiser pays the affiliate to place a link on their website, and the affiliate sends traffic to the advertiser in return. Simply put, it's about paying commissions to people who help you make sales.

Here are some of the reasons why Internet marketers are so interested in affiliate marketing as a form of Internet advertisement.

1. Minimum Start-up Cost

Many people are put off starting an online home based business because of the capital required. With affiliate marketing, you do not have to spend much money when starting out.

2. No Shipping or Handling

Dealing with product distribution can be very time consuming and stressful, but with affiliate marketing the merchant does the required handling, leaving the affiliate free to focus on generating traffic.

3. Unlimited Leveraged Income

When you have a paid job, your monthly income mainly relies on your being present at work. With affiliate marketing, your affiliates just generate traffic to your site without you having to lift a finger after providing them with your ad copy and links. Although not every marketers earnings are limitless, it is still is a fact that having your own affiliate program increases your chances of being successful.

4. Global Market

Affiliate marketing is global, your customers can be anywhere in the world. All you have to do is choose a good niche product and prepare the necessary tools for your affiliates to lead traffic from just about anywhere to your website.

5. Low Risk

The main reason for the popularity of affiliate marketing is it’s having a low risk factor. Just about anyone can become involved with affiliate marketing, even those operating with only a small budget set aside for advertising.

6. No Closing Time

With affiliate marketing, there are no down times. Your business will continues to run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week targeting a worldwide market! What could be better than that?

The most important thing is to look out for niche markets to operate. None of the above will matter if you are trying to sell something that is not in high demand with little competition. You must also have all the other important tools to make it big in affiliate marketing, i.e., a website that has been optimized for the search engines. So you would be wise to work on this first before ever considering the other benefits.

Internet Marketing: Keyword Stuffing – Good Idea or Bad Policy?

By Scott Lindsay Platinum Quality Author

Keywords are an important function of Internet marketing. The use of a specific set of keywords or phrases can help a website earn better rankings with search engines, but how much is too much?

A friend of mine was asked once to provide content for a website where the key phrase had three words and that key phrase had to be used ten percent of the time. In other words, for every 100 words written the phrase has to be included 10 times. To put that in perspective the article could only have seventy original words in one hundred because the other thirty words were tied up in the mandatory use of a key phrase. My friend turned the work down.

Why?

Because he understood that the only way to write content with a key phrase count that high would be to stuff the article and force the use of the key phrase even when it would not be normal to do so.

Perhaps you have been to websites that have content that are filled to overflowing with a particular keyword or phrase. The articles are no fun to read and can’t really be considered knowledge-based. These articles are, in fact, only present for the benefit of search engines.

Most experts indicate 4-5 keywords or phrases per article or 2-3% (whichever allows for the most use). Essentially you should not use more than 3 keywords or phrases per one hundred words.

If you do work with a freelance writer make sure they understand that you are more interested in a quality article than in making sure an exact number of keywords are used.

Some online businesses will also request that a freelance writer they are working with include any common misspelling or word separations that might be used when searching online. The reason some businesses request intentional misspellings is that if a potential customer types in the word incorrectly then the business may show up well in the rankings for the misspelling.

I’m not sure I recommend this, but if you come across a site with a few misspellings it is possible the mistake was intentional.

You have to remember when you write or have articles written you are attempting to reach your customers just as strongly as you are search engines.

Internet marketing is an important component to the overall success of your online company. Make sure keywords or phrases allow your Internet marketing to succeed by concentrating on your customer no less than you do SEO strategies.

What Makes A Good Global Online Business?

By Bruce Seah Platinum Quality Author

What makes a good global online business? There are 10 basic questions that will make a good checklist.

1. Is the business ethical? You want a business that will only benefit people and not hurt anyone. It is all about doing the right things. Your integrity is your most precious asset and you must protect it at all times! You want to do your due diligence and ensure that the company has good management and a good track record.

2. Do the products or services offer great value? People all over the world are basically the same, they are looking for great value. You've heard it many times before, it is the value and not the price.

3. Does the business have timing? Is it offering something that is riding a major growing trend, for example, if it is a product that serves the hungry market of the expanding information industry, it will be considered a great product. It is very important to identify not only great demand but one that will grow tremendously in the future!

4. Is the start up cost affordable? When you want to reach the masses, you must make the entry level easy so you can get as many people as possible to do the business. If the start up cost is very low then it is very easy to get people to get started on it!

5. Is the monthly operating cost affordable? Most businesses will take one to two years to break even, if the monthly operating cost is very high, it will cause high attrition rate because when people cannot afford the monthly operating cost in the first three to six months, they will stop doing the business. A low monthly operating cost will help in the sustainability of your business.

6. Is the break-even time very short? If you can show a person how to break even in their first month or first three months, then you have a very attractive business because people want to see positive results as soon as possible!

The break-even time is link to the monthly operating cost, if your monthly operating cost is very low then the attrition rate will be lower because those participating in the business can afford to continue even though they are not getting good results in their first three to six months, this will give you a higher tolerance of the break-even time.

7. Is the system proven, tested and duplicatable? You don't want to reinvent the wheel, you want to leverage on a proven and tested system that is duplicatable and will ensure your success! The solution lies in the system, people are looking for a system that makes it easy for them to do and duplicate their efforts.

8. Will you have user-friendly offline and online support to help you build your business? Besides online user-friendly website support, do you have business tools such as DVDs, name cards and prospectus to help you build your business?

9. Can you do the business in any part of the world where there is access to the Internet? You want a portable global online business where there is very little restriction and you can do the business as you travel round the world!

10. Is the process of accepting payment and paying out commission secure, simple and effective? You want a business that is simple to do and accepting payment and paying out commission should be secure, simple and effective! Where money is concerned it is a very sensitive issue and you want to make it very easy for people to pay and also for those in the business to collect their commission!

Go through this checklist and most important of all do some soul searching and ask further these very important questions: Do you believe it is a great business opportunity that you will want to share with your loved ones, relatives and friends? Do you think this business has integrity and offers great value, great quality, great service and great relationship? Do you think you can make life better with this business opportunity and help people create a good residual income? Are you excited about the business and just can't wait to share it with as many people as possible? Do you think you will love doing this business?

Clarity is power. When you are very clear that you have a great business opportunity and you believe it wholeheartedly and it has passed the above checklist, and you are willing to do whatever it takes ethically to achieve your dreams, your success is guaranteed!

Internet Marketing Coaching

By Sean Mize Platinum Quality Author

Internet marketing coaching. Hmm…how much coaching is there online? I do not think there really is enough.

Except for the few guys out there that charge $10,000 per weekend for coaching – but I am talking about genuine, affordable coaching, coaching for the guy that is just getting started.

You see, they guy that is just getting started generally won’t spend $10,000 to learn how to do something he isn’t sure even works anyway. But her might spend $500 per month or $100 per month or something like that.

So I think there is a genuine need online for coaching – for real coaching, from individuals who are currently earning an income online via internet marketing.

Internet marketing coaching should have 3 things to be successful, in my opinion:

1) Internet marketing coaching must be relevant to whatever point you are at in internet marketing. If you are a beginner, you need beginning coaching. If you are list building, you need list building coaching. If you have a web site, but want to drive traffic to it, you need traffic building coaching. You should have the idea by now.

2) Internet marketing coaching should have an element of personal contact to it – via email or a message board – someone should be able to tell you exactly what you are doing wrong, or what you need to do to fix something or do something.

3) Internet marketing coaching should have a core element to it – it should give you steps to accomplish so that you know exactly what you should be doing.

Secret To Success In Online Marketing - Build Your Database

By Adel Refai

Whatever you may be marketing online – whether it’s a product, service, or information – one of the most basic yet most important step in growing your business online is to Build Your Database. There are many beginners out there who are believe it to be enough to direct customers to the order page on their site. A sale equals success, the belief goes. But that is false. Now that they have bought from you – now what?

Who were they? Where are they from? How can you get in touch with them? They bought from you once, wouldn’t it make sense they may want to buy again? Or refer someone if you’re running your business properly? Folks, these are very valid questions. No good business person, online or offline, is going to be successful off of one-visit clientele (with some exceptions, of course, such as highway rest stops).

Do your research. You will find it common knowledge that it costs a lot more money to gain a new customer then it does to keep an existing one. You have to generate repeat business. How do you do this? There are a few ways, but what we’ll be discussing here is creating a data capture page.

Your goal is to have your prospective customer fill out his/her contact information (name, email, possible phone number) before placing their order. The trick is to do this in a way that it doesn’t turn them off, and make them hit the back button and look for another site. If you are going to be shipping the product to them directly, then you should already have something built in to capture this information. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re legally allowed to contact them.

What you want is to be able to gather contact information, and to be able to use it. You want to be able to reach out to your contact list to let them know about promotions, new products, sales, special offers, etc. If you’re seeing the big picture here, you realize that this translates into instant cash. Once you’ve built your database to a substantial size, you’ve pretty much created a cash machine. Yes, you’ll continue to market your business online for new prospects. However, anytime you have something new to offer or simply want to remind your customers that you’re there to increase sales – all you have to do is put together a sales letter and shoot out an email to your database.

Most of them will have bought from you in the past and will trust you. If you’ve kept contact with them with regular newsletters, they’ll be familiar with you already. Both of these are huge advantages over any other company.

One of the most effective way is to have a data capture site at the beginning of the sales process. Offer something beneficial to them in exchange for their data.

A free coaching session
A free report
A special discount
Free access to an Ezine/newsletter/course valued at $XYZ.00

Be creative, or go online and look at some successful sites for ideas. It just has to get the prospect to want what you’re offering, so they’ll quickly and eagerly fill in their info.

It goes without saying that this all has to be done with integrity. Offer something genuine and of value, and once you have their info, always contact them out of good intention. You must always have your customers best interest in mind, or your business will eventually die. Karma exists in a big way in business.

I hope this gave you a good idea of how a data capture page works, and the importance of building a customer database for your business. Good luck with this, and if you need any more information, help applying this, or just some examples – please don’t hesitate to contact me and ask.

My Best Affiliate Internet Marketing Tips

By Nickolie Greer

Promoting affiliate programs is both fun and at the same time can be very nerve racking. Trying to find the right affiliate program then trying different ways to promote the program is what the game is about. There are hundreds of e-books and guides out in online land, but like everything in life there are basic rules to follow.

Like anything of value, online marketing takes time, testing and money. Some time it can take a lot of all three. So be pre-parried to invest all three. After you invest in all three there still is no guarantee that the program is going to be successful. Now, not to start off negatively, affiliate marketing is very easy and profitable if you follow the basic rules. Finding the basic rules to online marketing is the start of the first tip, so here they are…

Tip 1:Building an Online Strategy & Updated it

Building an online strategy is very much like creating a business plan. It’s the way you find the easiest in promoting a program. This takes time to develop it and the more time and research you invest the better understanding you’re going have in online marketing. If you are new to online marketing, then spend just a couple hours a day learning different strategies and tips before you start any marketing. Find what works for you and the build from that. Doing it this way will ensure that you will be happy years from now still promoting different programs.

Tip 2:Do what the successfully ones do.

Don’t necessarily copy them, because that would be wrong and in some cases against the law. But learn what made it successful then try to improve on it and then stomp out any and all competition. A good way of doing this is after finding a profitable program then offers some type of e-book or free report. This will improve your promotion and it will stomp out the competition. Because nobody else is offering something for free and online visitors love freebies.

Tip 3:Create an Opt-In List & Conduct a Surveys

Learning the market is a key to any niche, and the only way to do this is ask what dose the market wants. A great way is to build an opt-in list, which is just a list of e-mails that you may have. There are many ways to build a list and once you have built one it’s a great way to make some money awhile. Find another program that is similar in nature and then recommend it to the list. In the e-mail that you send they ask for feed back from anyone that try’s the product.

Tip 4:Promoting More then One Program

This is just common sense, the more programs that you are promoting then more chances you are getting to make a sale. It easier then you may think, if you combine tip 2 and 3 with this one, then you have a great way to make money online. You have a way to improve the product by adding value and a way to make money with the list.

The point is to not give up until you find what works for you. Trying to make fast & easy money online is just a marketing trick. It takes time, money & testing, this is the basic rules of online marketing.
